Gary Lineker reacts on Twitter to Mesut Ozil’s display in Arsenal v Bournemouth
Gary Lineker was impressed by what he saw from Mesut Ozil during Arsenal's win over Bournemouth
Gary Lineker was gushing with praise for Mesut Ozil after the Arsenal playmaker enjoyed a brilliant performance during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday evening.
The Germany playmaker has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season and notched up his 16th top flight assist of the campaign when his corner set up Gabriel Paulista for the Gunners’ opener in the first half.
Ozil was in scintillating form during Monday’s game and set up a number of chances for his team-mates, including threading a delightful pass for Theo Walcott through the Bournemouth defence.
He then netted the Gunners’ second goal after half time to wrap up the points for the north Londoners.
And former England striker Lineker was clearly impressed by Ozil’s display against the visitors at Emirates Stadium.
Lineker tweeted at half-time during the game:
Özil could pass the ball through a cheese grater without scratching it.
