Gary Neville picks his Premier League player of the month for November
Manchester United legend Gary Neville heaps praise on Jamie Vardy after his record-breaking run
Gary Neville has selected Jamie Vardy as the Premier League’s best player in November after the striker’s record-breaking run for Leicester City.
Vardy scored the opener against Manchester United in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Kind Power Stadium as he broke the record for scoring in consecutive top-flight games previously held by Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The 28-year-old has already netted 14 goals in the Premier League so far this season and has also notched up one assist for his team-mates.
And former United defender Neville says that Vardy was the standout candidate for the player of the month title after a sparkling few weeks for the forward.
Neville told BreatheSport: “Jamie Vardy is my Premier League Player of the Month for November and, to be honest, it’s a no-brainer!
“Breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record is a truly amazing achievement; and add to that that Leicester are flying near the top of the league, it has to be Vardy for the second month running.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Ham United following their draw at Leicester on Saturday.
The Red Devils are currently third in the Premier League table and a point behind joint leaders Manchester City and Leicester.
