Dietmar Hamann and Ian Rush take to Twitter after Liverpool are emphatic 6-1 winners against Southampton
Liverpool set up a League Cup semi-final clash against Stoke City after a 6-1 rout of Southampton at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.
Daniel Sturridge scored his first goal since September as he cancelled out Sadio Mane’s opener before the injury-prone striker edged Liverpool into a 2-1 lead four minutes later.
Divock Origi added Liverpool’s third goal of the first half before the Belgium international completed his hat-trick after half-time.
Substitute Jordon Ibe netted Liverpool’s sixth to secure their place in the semi-final draw, and the Reds will make the trip to Stoke City in the first leg.
