Harry Kane sends blunt warning to Tottenham starlet
Harry Kane warns Dele Alli that he must keep his feet on the ground despite his stunning form for Tottenham
Harry Kane has warned Dele Alli to keep his feet on the ground after a breakthrough few months for the Tottenham Hotspur starlet.
Alli has earned rave reviews for his performances for Spurs this season and capped off a stunning start to the campaign with his first senior goal for England against France at Wembley last month.
Spurs striker Kane enjoyed a similar campaign last term, as he hit 31 goals in all competitions and was voted the PFA young player of the year.
And the forward has sent a warning to the 19-year-old, telling the teenager to stay grounded and work hard on improving his game.
Kane told the Daily Mirror: “Playing for England and scoring at Wembley is kind of similar to what I did last year.
“He is going through a whirlwind, everything is happening so quickly. He probably hasn’t had a chance to sit back and realise what he has done. But he has to stay focused.
“We have good coaches here and good management staff. I am sure he will keep his feet on the ground because there is a long way to go this season and he wants to keep getting better.
“I will keep telling him that too, of course. I know he will keep working on the training field to try to get better.”
Alli, who has scored three goals and made one assist in 13 Premier League games so far this season, joined Spurs back in January 2015 having impressed in League One with MK Dons.
He scored Spurs’ goal in the 1-1 draw with West Brom on Saturday afternoon.
