Harry Kane: What Tottenham must learn from Newcastle defeat
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reflects on Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Newcastle United on Twitter
Harry Kane says Tottenham Hotspur must learn to kill teams off after throwing a away a leading position to lose 2-1 to Newcastle United on Sunday evening.
The England international was unable to prevent the north London side from suffering their first Premier League defeat in 15 games after Steve McClaren’s side beat Hugo Lloris twice in the final 10 minutes.
Kane, who has scored eight times in 16 Premier League games for Spurs this season, was limited to long-range efforts on Rob Elliot’s goal as Newcastle kept Tottenham’s danger-man quiet.
The reigning PFA young player of the year was particularly disappointed that Tottenham couldn’t build on Eric Dier’s first-half opener at White Hart Lane after two late goals from Newcastle secured three points for the visitors.
Very bad result. We need to learn to keep our foot on the pedal when 1-0 up and kill teams off.Important to bounce back with a win next week!

Tottenham appeared to be coasting towards victory after Dier broke the deadlock in the first half.
However, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez came off the bench to score late goals for the Magpies.
