Injured Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is all smiles with some of his Gunners team-mates on Wednesday night

Danny Welbeck was all smiles with some of his Arsenal team-mates as the Gunners got festive ahead of their Boxing Day trip to Southampton.

The north London side will have plenty to smile about on Christmas Day after Arsene Wenger’s side were 2-1 winners against title rivals Manchester City at The Emirates on Monday night.

Chambers, Flamini and Oxlade-Chamberlain played their part in the slender win, whilst Welbeck continues on his road to recovery from a knee operation.

The former Manchester United striker has endured a frustrating 2015 and the England international hasn’t played for the Gunners since April.

However, Welbeck appeared in high spirits with Chambers, Flamini and Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of his anticipated return to action in January.

Chambers posted the above photo and wrote on his Instagram page: “Christmas scenes with the team 🎄”

Arsenal are two points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City following their 2-1 victory over Manuel Pellegrini’s side earlier this week.
