Kane has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers in 2015 and has scored 27 goals in the calendar year to help Mauricio Pochettino’s men up to fourth place in the table.
Even when Kane isn’t scoring, he makes big contributions
The England striker’s fine form earned him the PFA young player of the year award in the summer after a sparkling 2014-15 campaign for the forward.
Kane, 22, has continued to produce sparkling displays for Tottenham this season and has already netted nine Premier League goals for the north London side this term.
And former Liverpool defender Carragher feels that the forward will play a key role in Tottenham’s hopes of breaking back into the Champions League places this season.
Carragher told the Daily Mail: “He has scored 27 goals in the calendar year and if he can maintain that level going into 2016, Tottenham will have an outstanding chance of finishing in the top four.
“I’m delighted to see how influential the PFA young player of the year has been in recent weeks. It was a nonsense when some critics were saying in late summer, after he’d gone eight games without scoring for Tottenham, that he was a one-season wonder.
“Even when Kane isn’t scoring, he makes big contributions with his selfless work, how he brings others into play and his awareness.”
Kane will be expecting to feature when Tottenham host Norwich City at White Hart Lane on Boxing Day.
