Jamie Carragher sends message to Gary Neville after Valencia appointment

Jamie Carragher naturally had something funny to say about Gary Neville's Valencia appointment

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have quickly established themselves as one of the best double acts on television on Monday Night Football.

But the Manchester United legend has split up the partnership after Valencia confirmed that the retired England defender will be taking over the reins at The Mestalla from Sunday.

Neville, who has been part of Roy Hodgson’s England coaching staff since 2012, will link up with his brother Phil at the La Liga club.

Unsurprisingly, Carragher had something witty to say about Neville’s departure, likening the United legend’s exit to the despair that he felt when Liverpool sold Pegguy Arphexad.

Neville joined the Sky Sports team at the start of the 2011-12 season, taking over as match analyst on Monday Night Football from Andy Gray.

The former Red Devils defender was joined by his rival Carragher at the start of the 2013/14 season, and the pair formed a formidable partnership on Monday Night Football.
