Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool’s 6-1 win at Southampton

Jamie Carragher is pretty happy with his Wednesday after Liverpool win and Gary Neville quits Sky Sports

Jamie Carragher reflected on a near-perfect Wednesday after Liverpool reached the League Cup semi-finals and Gary Neville called time on his Sky Sports career.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were emphatic 6-1 winners against Southampton in their quarter-final clash at St Mary’s on Wednesday night thanks to Divock Origi’s hat-trick, Daniel Sturridge’s brace and Jordon Ibe’s strike.

Liverpool make the trip to Stoke City in the first leg of their semi-final clash as Klopp looks to lead the Merseyside outfit to their first cup final since the German took over the reins in October.

Carragher’s Sky Sports colleague Neville was also appointed as Valencia head coach until the end of the season on Wednesday morning.

His first managerial role means the former Manchester United defender will no longer star on Sky Sports’s popular Monday Night Football.

And while the Liverpool legend will presumably miss the England coach, Carragher couldn’t resist a cheeky tweet after the Reds’s sensational performance.

Liverpool are in sixth place and six points behind leaders Leicester City and Manchester City.
