Jamie Carragher reacts on Twitter as Louis van Gaal walks out of Man United briefing

Jamie Carragher reacted on Twitter to Louis van Gaal's headline-making Manchester United news conference on Tuesday

Jamie Carragher declared that he “loves” Louis van Gaal after the Manchester United manager walked out of his news conference on Tuesday.

The Dutchman was in a bad mood from the off as he faced the media at United’s Carrington training ground amid the relentless speculation about his future at Old Trafford following his side’s poor recent run of form.

Van Gaal, 64, was unhappy at being asked about his future following speculation that he could be sacked, with Jose Mourinho touted as a possible candidate to take over at United.

The United boss was in the news conference for just four minutes and 58 seconds and said that he was only speaking to the media due to Premier League regulations.

The Red Devils had organised wine and mince pies for the gathered reporters at the news conference.

Van Gaal concluded the briefing by saying: “I wish you a merry Christmas and maybe also a happy new year when I see you. Enjoy the wine and a mince pie. Goodbye.”

And former Liverpool defender Carragher took to Twitter after seeing the events unfold.

Carragher tweeted:
