The Reds started with an unfamiliar centre-half pairing of Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho following injury to first-choice defender Martin Skrtel during their 3-0 loss to Watford last weekend.
However, Lovren and Sakho managed to keep Leicester’s in-form duo Riyad Mahrez and James Vardy quiet as Christian Benteke scored a second-half winner for the Merseyside outfit at Anfield.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher, who has been working as a pundit for Sky Sports since announcing his retirement in 2013, took to Twitter to single out Lovren for special praise.
Big 3 points for Liverpool today, Dejan Lovren excellent.

Liverpool hoisted themselves up to eighth place in the Premier League table thanks to their 1-0 victory over the Foxes.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are still 11 points behind surprise leaders Leicester despite their first win in four attempts.
The Reds travel to Sunderland in their next Premier League game on Wednesday 30 December.
