John Arne Riise talks up Liverpool’s title potential
John Arne Riise believes Liverpool will be closer to the top with each Premier League week
John Arne Riise has talked up Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season.
The Reds are in sixth place and six points behind leaders Manchester City ahead their trip to Newcastle United at St James’s Park on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool were impressive 6-1 winners against Southampton in their League Cup quarter-final at St Mary’s mid-week to step up a semi-final clash against Stoke City.
The 18-time English champions have already beaten defending champions Chelsea and Premier League leaders Manchester City on the road over the past five weeks.
And Riise, who was part of the Liverpool side that won the Champions League in 2005, backed Jurgen Klopp’s revived Reds side to edge closer and closer to the top of the table.
No one is running away on top. I can see @LFC getting closer to the top every week.. Exciting times to be a Liverpool fan

Klopp has lost just once in 12 games in all competitions after he was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’s successor in October.
