John Barnes states his prediction for Arsenal v Man City

John Barnes reckons Monday's crunch clash between Arsenal and Manchester City will end in a 1-1 draw

John Barnes is expecting Arsenal to be held to a goalless draw by Manchester City in Monday night’s crunch Premier League clash at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners head into the game looking to secure a victory and lay down a marker for the rest of the season as the hectic festive period looms large.

City are currently third in the Premier League table and one point behind the second-placed Gunners after 16 games of the new campaign.

Arsenal have been touted by many to be genuine Premier League title contenders this season, with the north London side currently just two points behind surprise pace-setters Leicester City.

However, former Liverpool star Barnes reckons that Monday night’s showdown in north London is going to end in a 1-1 draw.

Barnes wrote in his blog for Titanbet: “It’s too early to call this one a title decider because, with the way this season is going, both teams will drop plenty more points.

“I think they’ll both be wary of a defeat here, so a draw is on the cards. The goal-scorers [will be] Wilfried Bony and Aaron Ramsey.”

Arsenal beat Aston Villa 2-0 in the most recent Premier League outing, while City were 2-1 winners over Swansea City last weekend.
