John Barnes states his prediction for Chelsea v Bournemouth

John Barnes is expecting Chelsea to ease past Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday

John Barnes is tipping Chelsea to return to winning ways by securing a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s men were held to a goalless draw by Tottenham Hotspur in their most recent top-flight outing at White Hart Lane last weekend following their 1-0 win over Norwich.

The Blues have the chance to kick off their December with a win in front of their home crowd – and the former Liverpool star is backing the west London side to notch up a comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge.

Writing in his blog for Titanbet, Barnes said: “I think Chelsea will win here, which would be a boost for them with recent weeks having brought fewer defeats.

“Bournemouth will take heart from that last gasp 3-3 with Everton, but I don’t think they’ll have enough.

“The goal-scorers [will be] Diego Costa and Eden Hazard.”

Chelsea will be looking to secure a victory after a disastrous start to their Premier League title defence. The Blues have lost seven of their 14 opening games to leave them closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table.

The Blues will look to qualify for the knockout phase of the Champions League when they take on Porto next week.
