John Barnes states his prediction for Liverpool v Leicester
John Barnes is backing Liverpool to beat high-flying Leicester City on Boxing Day
John Barnes is backing Liverpool to return to winning ways by beating Premier League leaders Leicester City at Anfield on Boxing Day.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been in stuttering form in recent weeks and slumped to a 3-0 loss to Watford last weekend following a draw against West Bromwich Albion and a defeat by Newcastle United.
The German coach has been tasked with guiding Liverpool back into the top four this season, with his Reds side currently five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham heading into the hectic Christmas schedule.
And Barnes feels that the Reds will be well-placed to claim victory over the high-flying Foxes on Merseyside on Saturday, despite Claudio Ranieri’s men having already beaten the likes of Chelsea and Everton in recent weeks.
Barnes wrote on his blog for Titanbet: “Klopp will have learnt from the Watford game, so I expect to see a big response from Liverpool at Anfield.
“Leicester will get players forward, so it’ll be an open game and the home side have the greater quality.
“The goal-scorers [will be] Christian Benteke and Riyad Mahrez.”
Liverpool have the luxury of four days off after Saturday’s clash, with the Reds travelling to Sunderland on Wednesday 30 September.
