John Terry reacts to Man United’s 2-1 loss to Bournemouth
John Terry has his say after Manchester United suffer a surprise 2-1 loss to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium
John Terry is backing Manchester United to bounce back from their dip in form after their shock 2-1 loss to Bournemouth on Saturday night.
The Red Devils slipped to a surprise defeat at the Vitality Stadium to cap a miserable week for the club following their Champions League exit.
However, Chelsea captain Terry is not expecting them to be struggling for long.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Terry said: “You look at their squad, they’ve got a great group of players and a lot of injuries at the moment as well.
“So give him [Van Gaal] time – and I’d certainly take their position in the league at the moment. They’ll be OK.”
Bournemouth took the lead in the second minute when David De Gea was beaten direct from a corner kick by Junior Stanislas.
The visitors equalised when Marouane Fellaini bundled in from close range in the 24th minute.
The Red Devils struggled and despite enjoying 57 per cent of the possession, they fell behind when Josh King steered in Matt Richie’s set-piece nine minutes after half-time.
United will drop into fifth place in the Premier League table if Tottenham beat Newcastle on Sunday.
