John Terry: Why Man United signing Anthony Martial has impressed me
Chelsea captain John Terry runs rule over Manchester United striker Anthony Martial
John Terry has heaped praise on Anthony Martial for taking on the responsibility of the Manchester United number nine shirt.
The France international scored his first goal since October as Martial broke the deadlock in United’s 3-2 defeat by Wolfsburg in their final Champions League group-stage game on Tuesday night.
Martial hasn’t netted in the Premier League since his brace in a 3-2 win against Southampton at St Mary’s in September just weeks after the 20-year-old completed a £36m move to Old Trafford on the summer’s transfer deadline day.

Former Chelsea defender Terry, who is yet to face the promising French striker this season, admitted that he has been impressed with the manner of Martial’s performances in United’s famous number nine shirt.
Terry told Sky Sports: “To take on that responsibility of the number nine shirt is a huge responsibility. I think he’s done well.”
Martial was unable to celebrate his 20th birthday with a goal last weekend as the Red Devils striker struggled to beat West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian in a goalless draw at Old Trafford.
