Kurt Zouma has heaped praise on Eden Hazard for his impressive performance during Chelsea’s goalless draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Belgian playmaker was in fine form after being deployed up front by manager Jose Mourinho at White Hart Lane.

Hazard has shown signs of starting to rediscover his top form after a slow start to the season for the 24-year-old and his Blues team-mates.

And defender Zouma was thoroughly impressed by what he saw from Hazard during Sunday’s stalemate in north London.

Zouma told Chelsea’s website: “Eden played amazingly well. He had some chances to score even though he is smaller than the defenders.

“He had a header and then a good shot in the second half. He could have scored but he was unlucky. For me he was the man of the match.”

The defender also insisted that a draw was a positive result for Chelsea.

“We wanted to win but I think it’s a good result for us,” he added. “To play at Tottenham is always difficult and now we are happy with the point. Let’s keep going.”

Sunday’s result left Chelsea in 14th place in the Premier League table and 14 point behind leaders Manchester City after 14 games of the new season.

The west London side will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening in their next Premier League game.
