The latest Arsenal injury update, including news on Alexis Sanchez ahead of Monday's clash with Manchester City
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez has a very slight chance of being included in Arsenal’s squad to face Manchester City in Monday night’s Premier League showdown at Emirates Stadium.
The Chile international has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the 1-1 draw with Norwich City last month but is now closing in on a return to action.
Alexis Sanchez is running but not participating in full training
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground on Thursday morning, Wenger confirmed that Sanchez has been taking part in running sessions ahead of a return to full training in the coming days.
Wenger said: “We are quite far from the game but at the moment everybody who played against Aston Villa is available for Monday night.
“[There could be] one or two possible comebacks, maybe a very slight chance for Sanchez to be in the squad again but it’s too early to be sure about it.
“He is running but not participating in full training.”
The Frenchman also confirmed that Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns heading into Monday night’s clash in north London.
