Latest Man United injury update: Louis van Gaal provides news on the likes of Jesse Lingard and Paddy McNair after Bournemouth loss
Jesse Lingard suffered a suspected hamstring injury during Manchester United’s surprise 2-1 loss to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening, Louis van Gaal has confirmed.
The 22-year-old was forced off during the Premier League clash after picking up a recurrence of a muscular strain.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils boss also revealed that Paddy McNair was substituted during the second half after suffering from cramp after the break.
There was some good news on the injury front for the Red Devils, however, as Phil Jones came off the bench late on to make his comeback from a foot problem.
Speaking at his news conference after United’s disappointing loss on Saturday, Van Gaal said: “McNair had cramp, he hasn’t played much this season.
“With Lingard, it is a second occurrence in a short space of time so we will have to see.”
