Gary Lineker leads the Twitter response to Gary Neville's appointment as Valencia manager
Gary Neville has been appointed as Valencia’s head coach until the end of the season.
The former Manchester United defender has been working in England’s coaching set-up and will remain in the position under Roy Hodgson.
Valencia owner Peter Lim has a stake in the former England right-back’s club, Salford City, which he co-owns with his brother Phil, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt.
The 40-year-old will also be leaving his role on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports alongside Jamie Carragher.
