Liverpool legend welcomes Philippe Coutinho’s return from injury

Luis Garcia takes to Twitter after Philippe Coutinho's return from injury

Luis Garcia has welcomed Philippe Coutinho’s return from injury after the Brazilian made a cameo appearance in Liverpool’s goalless draw with Sion.

The South American was a second-half substitute for Liverpool vice-captain James Milner in their Europa League clash in Switzerland on Thursday night.

Coutinho’s 29-minute performance was his first appearance for the Reds since he picked up a hamstring injury at Manchester City last month.

Former Liverpool playmaker Garcia, who was part of Rafael Benitez’s Champions League-winning side in 2005, hailed the return of the 23-year-old.

Coutinho scored one goal and made an assist in Liverpool’s stunning 4-1 victory over City in the Premier League at Etihad Stadium last month before he was forced off due to injury.

The Brazilian has been one of the Merseyside outfit’s most-impressive players so far this season, scoring five goals and making three assists in 12 Premier League games in 999 top-flight minutes.
