Liverpool transfers: Diego Lopez won’t leave AC Milan, says agent
Diego Lopez will be staying at AC Milan despite reported Liverpool interest, says goalkeeper's agent
Diego Lopez won’t leave AC Milan in the January transfer window despite reported interest from Liverpool, according to the shot stopper’s agent.
The Spain international was linked with a potential switch to the Merseyside outfit earlier this week, although Lopez only joined the Serie A side in 2014.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was adamant that the Reds won’t look to sign a goalkeeper in January during his media conference on Tuesday afternoon.
And Lopez’s agent Manuel Garcia Quilon, who is also the representative of former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, poured cold water on talk of a move to Anfield.
“Will Diego Lopez leave Milan?” Quilon is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“I don’t think so. In January he won’t move, and I don’t understand why there’s all this talk of his imminent goodbye.”
The 34-year-old goalkeeper moved to AC Milan from Real Madrid in 2014.
The former Los Blancos shot stopper has made eight Serie A appearances for the seven-time European champions so far this season.
Lopez was part of the Real Madrid squad that won La Liga in 2007 before Los Blancos lifted the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in 2014.
