Liverpool transfers: Philippe Coutinho responds to Anfield exit talk
Philippe Coutinho says he is happy at Liverpool amid reported interest in the playmaker from Barcelona
Philippe Coutinho has insisted that he is not being distracted by admiring glances from foreign clubs and says he is fully focused on performing for Liverpool.
The Brazilian playmaker has developed into one of Liverpool’s star players since his arrival at the Merseyside outfit from Inter Milan in January 2013.
At this moment I just want to give my best for the club
The 23-year-old has scored five goals and made three assists in 12 Premier League games for Liverpool so far this season as Jurgen Klopp’s men look to break back into the top four.
Barcelona are among the top European clubs to have been credited with an interest in signing the player, who has blossomed into a first-team regular at Anfield.
However, the attacker has stressed that he is happy at Liverpool and is only focused on helping the Reds enjoy a positive second half of the season.
Asked about a potential transfer to Spain in the future, Coutinho told the Daily Mail: “For me, I just think about the moment.
“And at this moment I just want to give my best for the club. And help the club. Liverpool is a big club and always will be.”
Coutinho will be expecting to feature when Liverpool host West Brom on Sunday afternoon.
