Liverpool transfers: PSG star reacts to talk of Premier League move
Lucas Moura says he is flattered by talk of a transfer to England but says he is happy at Paris Saint-Germain
Reported Liverpool target Lucas Moura has admitted that he is flattered by the speculation linking him with a potential January transfer to the Premier League – but has insisted that he is happy at Paris Saint-Germain.
Moura has been touted as a possible target for the Merseyside outfit in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp considers bolstering his squad at Anfield during the mid-season transfer window.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has seen his first-team opportunities at PSG limited in recent months.
However, the Brazil international insists that he has no immediate plans to quit the Parc des Princes club next month.
In an interview with SporTV, Moura said: “First, I’m happy to generate interest from major European clubs, if the interest exists it shows that people trust me and would count on me,
“But right now I am only thinking about Paris Saint Germain. I am not thinking about leaving. I want to earn my place in the team and continue my story here. But it is true that in football, you never know what can happen overnight.
“It is clear that the Premier League is very strong. If an opportunity comes later and I no longer have the desire to play here, I would take the decision and I would play for another club.”
Moura joined PSG from Sao Paulo in 2013 and is currently contracted to the French club until the summer of 2019.
He could make the trip to England in the new year after Paris Saint-Germain were drawn against Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League on Monday.
