Lord Sugar, Shearer and more: Twitter reacts as Newcastle beat Tottenham
Lord Sugar and Alan Shearer both tweet their thoughts as Newcastle come from a goal down to beat Tottenham 2-1 at White Hart Lane
Newcastle United came from a goal down to stun Tottenham Hotspur and record a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane to lift themselves out of the relegation zone on Sunday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men looked bright early on and went ahead in the 39th minute at White Hart Lane when Eric Dier headed home Christian Eriksen’s corner.
But the Magpies fought back and drew level in the 74th minute when substitute Aleksandar Mitrovic tapped in following a scramble inside the six-yard box.
Substitute Ayoze Perez then netted a dramatic late winner in the 90th minute when Hugo Lloris was caught out by a quick shot at his near post.
The result meant that Spurs missed the chance to move into top four and left them in fifth place in the Premier League table.
The dramatic game inevitably prompted plenty of reaction on social media – and here are some of our favourite updates.
Great finish from Perez. Took Lloris by surprise how early he took it. Lloris expecting Perez to let it bounce first so wasn't set for it.
