Louis van Gaal reacts to Man United’s goalless draw with Chelsea
Louis van Gaal admits his frustration as Manchester United's winless run continued with a goalless draw against Chelsea
Louis van Gaal admitted his frustration after watching his Manchester United side play out a goalless draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Despite the stalemate, United – who headed into the game after fourth straight defeats – were much improved and came close in the first half when Juan Mata hit the crossbar and Anthony Martial saw his shot rebound off the post.
I thank my players for the performance but we need a victory

Chelsea had chances of their own in an entertaining game at Old Trafford, with Nemanja Matic coming closest for the visitors when he blazed over after finding himself through on goal in the second half.
However, after watching his side fail to win once again, Van Gaal could not hide his frustration at seeing his side fail to break the deadlock.
Van Gaal told BBC Sport: “We have forced the luck and still we didn’t score and that is unbelievable when you see what happens today. I am frustrated.
“I thank my players for the performance but we need a victory. It gives a lot of hope for the fans. My relationship with players, board and staff members is very good. There is no reason to sack me.
“The results are not good enough. I know that, the players and board know that. It can be different in about one month.”
The result left United in sixth place in the Premier League table and five points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
Manchester United have now gone eight games without victory in all competitions, their worst run since January 1990.
