Louis van Gaal looks ahead to Wolfsburg v Man United

Louis van Gaal warns Man United that they'll have to improve in front of goal to qualify for Champions League last 16

Louis van Gaal has warned Manchester United that they will have to improve in front of goal if the Red Devils are to beat Wolfsburg on Tuesday night.

The 20-time English champions played out a goalless draw with West Ham United at Old Trafford on Saturday, meaning the Red Devils have scored just seven times in their last 10 games.

United need to beat Wolfsburg in Germany on Tuesday night to be assured of their place in the Champions League knockout stage after a goalless draw with PSV Eindhoven in their last European outing.

Looking ahead to United’s upcoming trip to Germany, Van Gaal was under no illusion in terms of what is required from his players.

Van Gaal told MUTV: “We have to win in Wolfsburg – we need to score also in Wolfsburg to survive in the Champions League.”

The Red Devils are in fourth place and three points behind leaders Leicester City.

United have won just three of their last seven games in all competitions.
