Man United transfers: Ayoze Perez flattered by Old Trafford link

Ayoze Perez admits he is flattered by the speculation linking him with a possible transfer to Manchester United

Ayoze Perez has fuelled the speculation linking him with a January transfer to Manchester United by admitting that he is flattered to be considered as a possible target for the Red Devils.

Perez has been in fine form for Newcastle United so far this season and scored the Magpies’ winner as they came from a goal down to beat Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has been touted as a target for both United and Spurs in recent months as the January transfer window looms large.

And Perez has done little to quell the speculation linking him with a transfer away from St James’ Park next month by admitting that he has been flattered by the reports.

Perez is quoted as saying by IBTimes UK: “I just know the same as you. What I hear, what I read.

“It is a great pleasure for me (to be linked with United and Spurs).

“It is incredible, something very big and that’s because I’m doing well but I must go on. It’s my job.

“You never know. Football takes many turns.”

Perez has scored four goals and made two assists in 14 Premier League games for Steve McLaren’s Newcastle side so far this season.
