Man United transfers: Louis van Gaal addresses talk of signing striker
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal discusses the Red Devils's lack of goals so far this season
Louis van Gaal says Manchester United will find it difficult to sign a proven goal-scorer in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat by promoted side Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
In January clubs shall not let go of players who score

The 20-time English champions have only scored 21 times in 16 Premier League games so far this term, and United have only netted six goals in their last seven top-flight games.
Only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller have scored more than Javier Hernandez’s 10 Bundesliga goals this season after Van Gaal sold the Mexico international to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Speaking ahead of the visit of Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, Van Gaal insisted the United players would have to improve in front of goal, particularly with clubs unwilling to sell their best players in the January transfer window.
“Goals are the most important thing, we have to always look for solutions to make goals,” Van Gaal said.
“We are doing that but we have to look for the solutions in our selection, that’s important. Maybe we have solutions elsewhere but that’s more difficult, because in January clubs shall not let go of players who score.”
The Red Devils are in fourth place and five points behind surprise leaders Leicester City.
