Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Man United v Norwich
Mark Lawrenson is expecting Manchester United to return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon
Mark Lawrenson is backing Manchester United to return to winning ways by beating Norwich City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Bournemouth last weekend, a result which left Louis van Gaal’s man in fourth place in the Premier League table.
United have been struggling to find consistent form in recent weeks and were dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of Wolfsburg earlier this month.
Van Gaal’s men have not secured a victory in all competitions since their 2-1 win over Watford almost a month ago.
However, Lawrenson feels that United will have too much for the visitors on Saturday afternoon, and is tipping the home side to seal a comfortably 2-0 win in front of their home fans.
Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “Norwich came back to earn a good point against Everton but the way they were taken apart in the first half will be a real worry.
“That might not be such a problem for them against this Manchester United side but I would still expect a home win.
“United have been pretty solid, if unspectacular, at Old Trafford and I think that will continue.”
United have stuttered to draws against Leicester and West Ham in recent weeks.
