Michael Carrick sends message to Man United team-mates ahead of Norwich clash
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick issues a rallying cry ahead of Norwich City clash
Michael Carrick says Manchester United must stick together ahead of the visit of Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 2-1 defeat by promoted side Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium after goals from Junior Stanisilas and Joshua King.
Louis van Gaal’s side have failed to win their last three games in all competitions over the past nine days, including defeats by Wolfsburg and Bournemouth.
However, experienced United midfielder Carrick is remaining positive ahead of their next Premier League fixture against 18th-placed Norwich at Old Trafford.
Carrick told United’s website: “The only thing to do now is stick together, get back to the training ground, work hard and perform next week.
“That is the only way to put things right, on the pitch. We can do a lot of talking but it’s about results and, starting next week, we have to go on a run.”
The Red Devils have won just eight of their 16 Premier League games so far this season, earning 29 points from a possible 48.
Van Gaal’s men are in fourth place in the table but six points behind surprise Premier League leaders Leicester City.
United’s 2-1 defeat by the Cherries was their third in 16 games in the Premier League so far this term.
