Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to return to winning ways by beating Leicester City in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 3-0 loss to Watford last weekend in their first game after Christmas.
Liverpool have lost two of their last three Premier League games to leave Klopp’s side in ninth place in the Premier League table and five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham heading into the hectic festive period.
The Reds have won three top-flight games since Klopp’s appointment, including impressive victories agains the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.
And despite high-flying Leicester being in such impressive form so far this season, former Liverpool striker Owen is backing the Reds to beat the league leaders at Anfield on Saturday.
Owen wrote in his column for Bet Victor: “It would be a remarkable double if the Foxes beat the Reds at Anfield a week after beating the Blue half of Merseyside at Goodison.
“One thing’s for sure, they will play a better Liverpool side than the one who turned up at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
“I expect the Reds to return to winning ways in what promises to be a real Christmas cracker.”
Liverpool lost to Newcastle and drew with West Bromwich Albion before their defeat by Watford last weekend.
