Michael Owen reacts on Twitter to Man United’s loss at Bournemouth
Michael Owen was not impressed by what he saw from Manchester United on Saturday
Michael Owen has branded Manchester United as “embarrassing” after the Red Devils slumped to a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth on Saturday night.
The Red Devils’ week went from bad to worse as they were beaten by the home side to dent their Premier League title hopes.
The loss heaped yet more misery on United after the humiliation of their Champions League exit at the hands of Wolfsburg on Tuesday night.
United will drop into fifth place in the Premier League table if Tottenham beat Newcastle at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
And former United forward Owen was less than impressed by what he saw from his former employers on Saturday.
Owen tweeted: “Not sure things can get much worse for United fans. Over a quarter of a billion spent under LVG’s reign. Credit to Bournemouth but this is embarrassing.”

Bournemouth took the lead in the second minute when David De Gea was beaten directly from a corner by Junior Stanislas.
Louis van Gaal’s men equalised when Marouane Fellaini bundled in from close range in the 24th minute.
The Red Devils struggled and despite enjoying 57 per cent of the possession, they fell behind again when Josh King steered in Matt Richie’s set-piece nine minutes after half-time.
