Michael Owen states his prediction for Aston Villa v Arsenal

Michael Owen has his say ahead of Arsenal's Premier League trip to Aston Villa on Sunday

Michael Owen is tipping Arsenal to secure the three points when they take on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, despite admitting that he is yet to be convinced by the Gunners this season.

Arsene Wenger’s men head into the game on the back of their thrilling 3-0 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League as the north London side booked their place in the last 16 in style.

The Gunners also returned to winning ways in the Premier League last weekend thanks to a battling 3-1 win over Sunderland at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal know that victory over the Villains on Sunday would place them on top of the Premier League table ahead of Leicester City’s clash with Chelsea on Monday night.

And although former Liverpool star Owen is expecting Arsenal to win, he is also tipping them to concede at least one goal.

Owen wrote on his column for Colossus Bets: “The less said about Aston Villa’s season the better, and I can see many punters banking on AOA (Any Other Away) here when Arsenal visit.

“But while I obviously think Arsenal will win, they are still not totally convincing – notwithstanding their superb 3-0 away win to progress in the Champions League on Wednesday night – especially with their injuries. I take the Gunners to win 3-1 or 2-1.”
