Michael Owen states his prediction for Liverpool v West Brom
Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to win to nil against West Brom at Anfield on Sunday afternoon
Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool to bounce back to winning ways when they host West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds head into the game on Merseyside looking to respond to the disappointment of their 2-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park last weekend.
Liverpool played out a goalless draw with FC Sion in the Europa League on Thursday night to confirm their place in the last 32 as winners of their group.
And former Reds striker Owen is backing Jurgen Klopp’s men to secure victory over the Baggies at Anfield to reignite their push for a top-four finish.
Owen backed Liverpool to win to nil on BetVictor and wrote: “I thought the Reds were very unfortunate to go down 2-0 to Newcastle on Sunday in a very lacklustre 90 minutes at St James’ Park.
“Daniel Sturridge has yet again been ruled out indefinitely and Christian Benteke needs to throw himself into the role of being the Reds’ talisman in front of goal.
“Jurgen Klopp will make Liverpool very difficult to beat and the hosts will surely have too much ammunition for a West Brom side that have won just 2 of their last 25 league games at Anfield.”
Liverpool head into Sunday’s game in 10th place in the Premier League table after 15 games of the new season. West Brom, who beat Arsenal at The Hawthorns last month, are currently in 13th place in the top flight.
