Michael Owen states his prediction for Watford v Tottenham

Michael Owen is tipping Harry Kane to help fire Tottenham to victory over Watford on Monday afternoon

Michael Owen is expecting Tottenham Hotspur to continue their recent good run of form by beating Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday afternoon.

The north London side kept their bid for a top-four finish on track on Boxing Day with a 3-0 victory over Norwich City at White Hart Lane.

Spurs striker Harry Kane was on the scoresheet once again for the Lilywhites as he netted twice to fire Mauricio Pochettino’s men to victory over the Canaries in north London.

Saturday’s victory left Tottenham in fourth place in the Premier League table and just six points behind leaders Leicester City heading into their game against Watford.

However, former Liverpool forward Owen is expecting Watford to provide a stern test of Spurs’ top-four credentials on Monday afternoon.

Owen wrote on his blog for Bet Victor: “Spurs are unbeaten in their last seven competitive games against Watford but this is a very good Hornets’ side who are blessed with one of the best strike forces in the Premier League in Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.

“That said, Harry Kane has scored more Premier League goals this year (27) than any other player and he might be the difference in a fascinating game at Vicarage Road.”
