Michael Owen states his prediction for West Ham v Liverpool
Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool to be held to a draw by West Ham United this weekend...
Michael Owen is expecting Liverpool to be held to a draw by a battling West Ham United side on Saturday lunchtime.
Jurgen Klopp’s men ended 2015 with back to back Premier League victories as Christian Benteke’s second-half goal handed the Reds a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Wednesday night.
That result lifted the Merseyside outfit up to seventh place in the table and level on 30 points with fierce rivals Manchester United heading into the new year.
Klopp has overseen a number of impressive away wins since he was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ successor back in October, including victories at the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and in the League Cup at Southampton.
However, Owen believes that the east London side are on course to frustrate the Reds when they travel to the capital for their first game of 2016.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen wrote in his blog for Bet Victor: “The Irons have drawn six of their last eight Premier League games and I think they will again share the spoils against a Liverpool side who have now won five league games this season by the only goal of the game following their latest 1-0 win at the Stadium Of Light.”
