Michael Owen: What Liverpool need to do to become title contenders
Michael Owen says Liverpool need to improve their home form
Michael Owen says Liverpool can become Premier League title contenders if the Reds improve their home form.
The Reds booked their place in the League Cup semi-finals thanks to a stunning 6-1 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have beaten Chelsea, Rubin Kazan, Manchester City and Southampton in their last four away games in all competitions.
The Reds are currently in sixth place and six points behind leaders City after James Milner scored the winner in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Swansea City.
Former Liverpool striker Owen appears to believe that Klopp’s side should be included in any discussion over potential title winners this season after their 6-1 demolition of the Saints.
Liverpool are unbelievable away from home. Imagine if that form can be reproduced at home. Title contenders? https://t.co/iQrNwCUzpi

Daniel Sturridge scored in the 25th and 29th minute at St Mary’s to cancel out Sadio Mane’s opener for the hosts before Divock Origi added a third on the stroke of half-time.
The Belgium international completed his hat-trick after half-time and Jordon Ibe also scored a goal sandwiched between Origi’s second-half strikes.
