Paul Ince: Man United star Ander Herrera too small and weak
Paul Ince suggests Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera isn't suited to the Red Devils
Paul Ince says Ander Herrera is too small and quite weak for Manchester United.
The Spanish midfielder has found his first-team opportunities limited this season after starting just six of United’s 14 Premier League appearances.
Herrera was injured for the Red Devils’s 1-1 draw with joint Premier League leaders Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.
The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder has been linked with a move away from the 20-time English champions this week, although Herrera has reiterated his desire to stay at Old Trafford.
Former Red Devils captain Ince admitted that he was surprised United signed the 26-year-old playmaker, criticising Herrera’s £29m transfer fee.
“I watched him play in Spain and he suits the Spanish game but I don’t think he suits Manchester United,” Ince told 888Poker.com.
“I thought it was a lot of money and when I first saw him he was small and looked quite weak.”
Herrera has scored two goals and has made two assists in nine Premier League games for the Red Devils this term.
