Paul Merson says that Tottenham Hotspur will be on the lookout for at least two players in the January transfer window
Paul Merson believes that Tottenham Hotspur will need to sign at least two players in the January transfer window if they are maintain their positive form.
The north London side have been one of the Premier League’s most consistent teams this season and they have not lost a game since their defeat by Manchester United on the opening weekend of the season.
Spurs were held to a goalless draw by Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon to leave them in fifth place in the Premier League table and four points behind leaders Manchester City as the hectic festive period looms large.
And former Arsenal star Merson feels that the Lilywhites will be looking to add a couple of players to their squad in the forthcoming January transfer window.
Merson told Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday: “The problem is if they get injuries, whoever comes in is not going to be better.
“I would say that [they should sign a couple of players], but they have to watch their pennies.
“Tottenham are building a new stadium, and it’s going to cost money.”
Tottenham return to Premier League action with a trip to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
