Petr Cech discusses Chelsea’s fall following Arsenal transfer
Petr Cech discusses Chelsea's dramatic drop in form following his summer transfer to Arsenal
Petr Cech believes that Chelsea’s poor form this season has shown him that his decision to leave the Blues and join Arsenal was the right one.
The Czech Republic international has been a regular fixture between the posts for Arsene Wenger’s men this season after arriving at Emirates Stadium as Arsenal’s only signing of the summer.
Cech kept his 169th Premier League clean sheet during the north London side’s 2-0 win at Aston Villa last Sunday to equal David James’ record of 169 shut-outs in the English top flight.
And Cech has reflected on his move following Chelsea’s poor start to the season, which resulted in Jose Mourinho’s sacking last week.
Cech is quoted as saying by The Sun: “I had to take the decision to leave even if it was not easy. The time has shown that the decision was the right one.
“Every team can have a time when it goes badly. Always when it seemed that Chelsea would rise, they fell. So this problem is probably bigger than everybody supposed.”
