Petr Cech trolls Chelsea by explaining reason for Arsenal transfer
Petr Cech has made it clear why he opted to quit Chelsea and join Arsenal in the summer
Petr Cech may have just upset some Chelsea fans by explaining that he joined Arsenal to win the Premier League title.
The Czech Republic international joined the north London side from their local rivals in the summer transfer window after he was deemed to be surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
Cech has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team this season and kept a record 170th Premier League clean sheet as the Gunners beat Bournemouth 2-0 on Monday to move top of the table.
The goalkeeper secured his transfer to The Emirates after finding his first-team opportunities at Chelsea limited last season as the Blues won the Premier League title under Mourinho.
However, the shot-stopper appears to have taken a subtle dig at his former employers when he was asked about his decision to leave Chelsea to join Arsenal.
Cech is quoted as saying by Metro: “I wanted to go to a team that could win.
“If I didn’t believe that I was going to a team which could win then I don’t know why I would come.
“I play football, not to only enjoy it and I love the challenge of playing and competing with the best players, but I want to have the chance to win.”
