Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies posts photo on his Instagram page ahead of Monaco clash

Ben Davies has taken to his Instagram page ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Monaco at White Hart Lane.

The Wales international has found his first-team opportunities limited in Mauricio Pochettino’s side since the return of Danny Rose.

Davies is behind the former Sunderland left-back in the pecking order in the Premier League, but the Spurs manager has given the ex-Swansea City man a chance in the Europa League.

The Spurs defender took to Instagram to show off his boots ahead of the visit of Ligue 1 side Monaco at The Lane on Thursday night.

Davies wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Take control or be controlled. Love my new @adidasUK #Ace15 ! Excited to be back at The Lane tomorrow!! 👊 #BeTheDifference #COYS”

The Welsh defender has made one assist in seven Premier League appearances this season.

Tottenham Hotspur v Monaco: Match facts

• Tottenham have won both of their European home matches this term, and are unbeaten in seven UEFA fixtures at White Hart Lane (W5 D2) since a 3-1 loss to SL Benfica in March 2014.

• Monaco have drawn both of their Group J away games 1-1.

• Spurs have now made it through seven of their eight Uefa Cup and Uefa Europa League group stage campaigns – missing the cut in 2011/12.

• Monaco were successful in their only previous Uefa Cup or Uefa Europa League group campaign, progressing to the round of 32 in 2005/06.

Davies has also started three of Tottenham’s five Europa League games.
