Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is ready for the visit of Sunderland
Calum Chambers has reassured Arsenal supporters that he is ready for the visit of Sunderland should Arsene Wenger call upon the defender on Saturday afternoon.
The England Under-21 international has been out-of-favour for much of the season under the Arsenal manager following a nervous performance in a goalless draw with Liverpool at the start of the campaign.
However, Wenger could be forced to call upon the 21-year-old amid Arsenal’s current injury crisis following recent injuries to Laurent Koscielny, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Alexis Sanchez.
Chambers could play in an unfamiliar defensive midfield-role after he impressed in the position during Arsenal Under-21’s win against Brighton earlier this week.
And the Arsenal youngster took to Instagram ahead of the visit of the Black Cats to issue a rallying cry: “Training done! Ready for the weekend 👊”
Chambers has made just three Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season.
Arsenal are in fourth place but just two points behind leaders Manchester City.
