Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney help turn on Manchester United's Christmas tree lights
Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney looked in a chirpy mood as the Manchester United helped a young student turn on the club’s Christmas tree lights at Old Trafford.
The England and United captain hasn’t had too much to celebrate in recent weeks after a tough start to the season for the 30-year-old forward.
Rooney has scored one goal in his last eight games in all competitions and the striker was replaced in the second half of United’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Saturday.
However, the United skipper was all smiles with his England and Red Devils team-mate Carrick as they joined a schoolgirl to turn on the Christmas lights at Old Trafford ahead of a hectic festive schedule.
Rooney has netted a disappointing two goals in 12 Premier League games this season, whilst the former Everton man has also scored once in the Champions League group-stage.
