Chelsea No2 Asmir Begovic sends a message of congratulations to Arsenal record-breaker Petr Cech

Asmir Begovic has sent a message of congratulations to Petr Cech after the Arsenal goalkeeper set a new Premier League record on Monday night.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper secured his 170th clean sheet in the Premier League to surpass David James’s tally of 169 after a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.

Cech moved to Arsenal in a £10m deal from defending Premier League champions Chelsea in the summer transfer window after 13 years at Stamford Bridge.

Begovic was signed as Cech’s replacement at the west London club to provide Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois with competition for the first-choice spot.

And the Bosnia-Herzegovina international sent a message to Cech on Twitter following the Czech Republic star’s record-breaking clean sheet.

Cech’s 170th clean sheet helped Arsenal hoist themselves above Leicester City and into top spot in the Premier League.
