John Terry takes to Instagram after Chelsea's first win of post-Jose Mourinho era
John Terry reflected on a vital three points for the defending champions after Chelsea edged to a 3-1 victory over Sunderland in their first Premier League game since Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
Chelsea eased into an early lead thanks to Branislav Ivanovic’s opener before summer signing Pedro Rodriguez doubled the west London side’s advantage in the 13th minute.
Brazil international Oscar added a third for the home side before former Liverpool striker Fabio Borini netted a consolation for the visitors in the 53rd minute.
And Blues skipper Terry took to Instagram to reflect on an important win for the defending Premier League champions after a difficult week following the west London club’s decision to terminate Mourinho’s contract.
Terry wrote on his Instagram page: “We needed a performance and 3 points today, we got both ”
New Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink watched the Blues seal a 3-1 win against Sam Allardyce’s side at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
