Jordan Henderson says Liverpool deserved more from Anfield clash after 2-2 draw with West Brom
Jordan Henderson has urged Liverpool to turn their thoughts to next weekend’s trip to Watford after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
The England international made the breakthrough in the 21st minute at Anfield after Henderson combined with Adam Lallana to finish from close range.
West Brom defender Craig Dawson levelled nine minutes later before Jonas Olsson had a strike chalked off for offside on the stroke of half-time.
However, the Swede wouldn’t be denied as he put the Baggies in front with 17 minutes remaining, before Divock Origi netted a dramatic 95th-minute equaliser.
And Liverpool captain Henderson, who scored his first Premier League goal of the season against the Baggies, felt the Reds deserved more from Sunday’s game at Anfield.
Henderson wrote on his Instagram page: “Unlucky not to get the 3 points. We kept going right until the end but couldn’t find the winner. Look forward to the next game now. Thanks for the amazing support as always. #ynwa”
Liverpool are in ninth place and five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
