Divock Origi was understandably happy to score his first goals for Liverpool in 6-1 win at St Mary's
Divock Origi couldn’t hide his delight on Instagram after the Liverpool striker scored a hat-trick in the Reds’s stunning 6-1 win against Southampton.
England international Daniel Sturridge scored twice in four first-half minutes to overturn Southampton’s 1-0 lead after Sadio Mane had broken the deadlock.
Origi added a third at St Mary’s on the stroke of half-time before the Belgium international completed his hat-trick with a powerful finish and a header sandwiched between Jordon Ibe’s goal.
The 20-year-old striker wasted no time taking to Instagram to have his say on a memorable night in the League Cup last eight at St Mary’s.
Origi wrote on his Instagram page: “What a feeling!!! Team looking sharp 💯 Happy with the man of the match & my first goals in a liverpool shirt.. God is great🙏”
Origi had failed to score in four Premier League appearances and five Europa League games before his treble in the League Cup quarter-final.
The Belgium striker moved to Liverpool in the summer after the Reds agreed a £12m fee with Lille in 2014 before loaning the forward back to the Ligue 1 side.
